The Deep Feminine Truth: An Integral Vision For A New Civilisation
We possess in abundance the capacities of compassion, creativity, courage and sufficient consciousness to create a civilisation where all beings feel a sense of belonging and can fulfill their individual and collective purpose and potential, in harmony with the earth.
Our Values
“Female values are all that can save humanity. Why? It is because women give birth and understand the earth’s rhythms; because of their endurance as mothers; and because they have been on the receiving end of violence for so long. In this way they have accumulated the values needed now – not only for survival, but for regeneration of the exhausted earth.”
Francis Wilson, Emeritus Professor of Economics, University of Cape Town
1. Ubuntu – Reverence for all Life
‘According to our Chinese traditional philosophy, we always believe in Harmony and in Oneness. We believe we are actually part of other people, a part of nature, a part of the universe. So all these different things, the human being, the birds, the flowers, are all linked together. That is a really core value of our Chinese traditional philosophy.’
Angelique Jiang, Managing Director, HollyHigh International Capital Co, China
2. Compassion
‘This is a catalyst, bringing more love and more unity to the world, because we are a global world now and there’s no denying that. We are a minute away from Asia, from Africa, from the Middle East, so why not make that dialogue one of warmth? Why not recognize the Sameness rather than the Otherness?’
Corny Koehl, Executive Producer, Harpo Radio
3. Wisdom
‘Change must start in the heart of the home, then from there the changes will come to the family, then to the community, then nationally. Once we have done that then the explosion could come about internationally. You can’t have a change unless you start first and look at your own feet, and where your feet are taking you.’
Pauline Tangiora, Maori spiritual leader
4. Justice and sacred courage
‘Right now we are sitting and watching this excruciating suffering in Syria and in so many parts of the world, and listening to the sorrows and the difficulties, knowing that this continues to happen and the systems we have created are unwilling and unable to find the true solution, the solution that people are dying for lack of. If we don’t learn now, and if we don’t go far beyond the fetters of what we have now, we cannot look in the eyes of our children and our grandchildren.’
Dr. Rama Mani, Senior Research Associate, CIS, University of Oxford
5. Beauty and creativity
‘This has been about vision and about taking the canvas we have as the world and painting the world we want to live in, what we see emerging from these reflections – it’s about the creativity of the arts and the creativity of how we look at our institutions, the way we relate to each other, the way we build our countries. As women, by the nature of who we are and the function of our physical bodies, we are the creators of life. This a birthing experience.’
Chipo Chung, Actor and Activist
6. A voice for the Earth
‘If we are prepared to listen quietly, Earth is telling us in myriad ways how we can support the regeneration of her infinite abundance and purity. If we allow our own roots to grow deep, we can become as solid and resilient as mighty trees, to stand up for the protection of Earth’s resources and to speak truth to the powerful who currently exploit and destroy. The armies of the world could be recycled to replant global forests, to recover and refill the scars of mining and drilling, and to enable rivers to run clean again.’
Dr. Scilla Elworthy, Founder of Peace Direct and the Oxford Research Group
7. New ways of being
We are at that stage where the real work of humanity begins. This is the time and place where we partner Creation in the recreation of ourselves, in the restoration of the biosphere, and in the assuming of a new kind of culture – what we might term a culture of kindness – where we live daily life in such a way as to be re-connected and charged and made more intelligent by the source of our reality, so as to become liberated as to our inventiveness, and very engaged in our world and our tasks.
Dr. Jean Houston, author, researcher and principal founder of the Human Potential Movement
